Don’t just sit in the class, always participate. Participating in ongoing discussions about a case help in improving your confidence, and things become easier to memorize and learn.

  2. Briefing of case laws: Subjects of law comprises of various case laws, and, hence, it is not practically possible to remember each and every point. Therefore, it is important for the students to give a proper reading to a particular case and take the notes of the same. This proves to be the most effective way of catching up with the entire syllabus before the examinations.

  3. Develop your study plan: As already stated, law is a vast area and covers various aspects of life, therefore, it becomes difficult to manage all the aspects in a limited time frame. But, if things are planned properly, it becomes a manageable task. So, it is of utmost importance for the law students to develop a study plan ranging from case briefs to practice exams to review sessions to moot competitions to extra curriculars. This will help in getting hold of everything in one go.

  4. Keep up with the newspaper: Going through case materials and law books is not enough to keep up with the knowledge. As a law student, you are expected to be aware of your surroundings and the happenings around the world. Newspapers (preferably, editorials from The Hindu) and various apps like Knappily, PIB, Live Law etc. help you in keeping up pace with the happenings around the globe. Make newspaper reading a mandatory habit.

  5. Form a study group: It is a popular saying that “two heads are better than one”. Because of individual characteristics, every person brings unique insights and perspectives to the table, which further helps in increasing knowledge of all. It is always important to select the groups with similar academic goals as yours. And, never end up making your study groups a social gathering.

  6. 6. Attend doubt sessions: Many professors have a tendency to hold doubt classes/sessions once in a week or two. Never miss those classes thinking that you know everything. This belief should be done away with as soon as you enter the Law school as you are there to learn more and more things. One person’s question can become an answer to your problem. Therefore, it is always advisable to never miss upon such sessions and make the most out of them.

Every person has certain peculiar habits of learning and these were just the most common ones of all. Keeping these things in mind can help you become a perfect law student for a reputed law school.
